In the summer of 2015, the Off Script team began interviewing former Nova Scotia MLAs. We chose to interview former MLAs - most of whom had no intentions to seek re-election - since they had fewer reasons to filter out or sugar coat what they might tell us about the realities of everyday politics. All of our interviews were on the record, but what we heard didn't sound much like the usual scripts. 

The Springtide Collective has released a discussion paper that models how five different voting system could work in Canada. The paper comes just as the House of Commons’ Special Committee on Electoral Reform arrives in Atlantic Canada for a week of hearings.

Make Democracy Better is a project started by the Springtide Collective in late 2014 with three objectives: To start a conversation about improving democracy in Nova Scotia, to identify people and groups who want to Make Democracy Better, and to build an action plan for a better democracy, using the priorities identified by participants and inspired by the best information and research available.
